where music loves misery

I have ex-boyfriends and they are in bands. I grew up in Chicago, went to college in Nashville and now reside in Austin. Yes, one of the reasons I moved here was for the music, and I truly, madly, deeply love this town. I am a writer, journalist, ex-grad student and a vegetarian.

I am also a recovering bulimic and anorexic, so that's where all the miserable insanity enters this project. Sure, it can be embrassing, it makes me feel exposed, but I also refuse to let my suffering be in vain. I write about depression and eating disorders in an attempt to help others.

At the moment this blog is not a commercial enterprise. It is merely a way for me to keep up on my own pieces and provide links for writing samples. According to theory, I make money freelancing and am working on a book.
